Eric's NASCAR Crash
Picture Page
Crashes are a sometimes scary, but unavoidable, part of racing.  As long as you have racing, you're going to have some crashes.  They are not such a big deal as long as proper safety measures are taken and no one is seriously hurt.  No on was fatally or seriously injured in ANY of the pictures on this site!  What is the worst crash that does NOT involve anyone getting hurt?...  The crash that your favorite driver gets into!

This twisted up mess is "THE BIG ONE" in the 2002 Daytona 500.  It is certainly one of the wildest crashes of recent years.  It involved AT LEAST 14 cars, including the #1 Steve Park, #7 Casey Atwood, #8 Dale Earnhardt Jr., #10 Johnny Benson, #17 Matt Kenseth, #19 Jeremy Mayfield, #25 Jerry Nadeau, #28 Ricky Rudd, #29 Kevin Harvick, #36 Ken Schrader, #43 John Andretti, #48 Jimmy Johnson, #55 Bobby Hamilton, and #66 Todd Bodine.  How did this mess start?  Two Words, Jeff Gordon.  Gordon forced Harvick low and ran him out of track.  Thanks to the yellow line rule, Harvick could go no lower and had no where to go except right into Gordon's car.  The #29 bounced off the #24 and all hell broke lose!!!

This one was also in the same incident in the 2002 Daytona 500, but Bobby Hamilton's car came to
rest a ways down the track from the rest of the wreckage.  Looks like Bobby lost his fuel pump!

This is the first Rockingham race in February of 2002.  The cars are Dave Blaney in the 77, Todd Bodine in the #26, and Mike Wallace in the number 33.  I don't recall how this one started, but I would be willing to make a wager judging by the fact that Todd Bodine is right in the middle of it!

I do not know an exact year for this one, but it was during the years when Ken Schrader drove the #25 Rick Hendrick owned Budweiser car.  And the person I got this picture from told me that this was caused by Jeff Gordon...  And the 25 car is his team mate!

This is the Chevy Monte Carlo 400 at Richmond on September 8, 2001.  Seven drivers, including Jeff Gordon, had special Looney Toons paint schemes for this race.  Before the race, Gordon said that this is his favorite special paint scheme he's ever had...  I just have one thing to say...  HAHAHA JEFFY!!!  YOU CRASHED IT!!!  HAHAHA!!!  The cause of this crash was Sterling Marlin's front bumper.  Gordon was the point leader going into this race, and held the lead despite the crash.

I don't know any details, or who the drivers are in this one, only that it took place at the Richmond night race for the Busch Series on September 7, 2001.  As you can see, the black car is a rookie driver and the white car is un-sponsored and probably under funded!

This crash involving Randy LeJoie took place in the Busch Series Richmond night race on
September 7, 2001.

This is the 2001 Busch night race at Bristol, August 24, 2001.  The 17 car, Matt Kenseth, was leading the race.  The 11 car, Ron Hornaday, was beside him trying to pass.  I think Hornaday's car got loose because it looked like he just went up the track suddenly and hit Kenseth.  The 57 car driven by Jason Keller was in third place at the time.  Keller was also in second place in the points battle. Unfortunately, the 60 car driven by Greg Biffle, who was also in the points battle, miraculously made it around the crash to take the lead.  On a later race restart, however, he cut a tire giving the lead to Kevin Harvick, who won the race.

I remember this crash...  I believe it was the first Busch race of the 1999 season (Daytona).  Not a very good way for Dale Earnhardt Jr. to start off the season, but he still won the championship that year!

Tony Stewart, 2001 Daytona 500.  This crash was caused by Robby Gordon in the #4 car.  If you see the video replay of the crash, you can see Dale Earnhardt literally driver underneath Stewart's car after it goes airborne!

..

2000 Winston All Star Race...  I believe this was caused by Joe Nemechek, who purposely crashed Steve Park...  This crash made me mad because it involved Dale Earnhardt and Steve Park, but at least it took care of Jeff Gordon!!!  Dale still managed to come back and finish third in the race!

1998 Winston All Star Race...  Well we just saw one of Dale's cool special paint jobs being smashed in The Winston, now here is another.  This is one of my favorite Dale Earnhardt cars, but the gold Bass Pro Shops car ended the night in a cloud of smoke and a shower of sparks!

This is the 1997 Daytona 500 where Dale was involved in a terrible crash. and still managed to drive the car!  He refused to get in the ambulance when he saw that the car still had four wheels on it after the crash, and he got back in it to finished the race!  All I can say is...  AMAZING!!!  But that's that "Dale Earnhardt toughness" for ya!

This is the scandalous Dale Earnhardt/Terry Labonte crash at the Bristol night race in 1999.  Dale did NOT crash Terry on purpose!  He was ONLY trying to rattle his cage!

These are all crash pictures of Jeff Gordon...  The pictures on this page are not here because of the fact I do not like these drivers, but I really do not like Jeff Gordon.  More pictures of Jeff Gordon's crashes can be found on Eric's Jeff Gordon Sucks Page.  I'm not sure of the date or location of any of these.
