.....
This is Dale's 1998 Monte Carlo
on the left, and his special car from The Winston on the right...
Unfortunately, this cool looking
car was destroyed in a crash during that race!
Another view of the crash
Here is another picture of it.
This is one of my favorite special paint schemes.
This is Dale's car from the exhibition
race in Japan at the end of the 1998 Season.
The 1998 Japan exhibition race was
the first time that Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr. competed against
each other in the same race! Earnhardt drove the #3 Coca-Cola car
owned by RCR, and Dale Jr. drove the #1 Coca-Cola owned by Dale Earnhardt
Inc. Dale Jr. finished ahead of his dad in the race.
1998 Daytona 500...
..........
..........
Dale finally won the Daytona 500
on his 20th try! That was a really awesome day for NASCAR!
ALL the crews and car owners lined
pit road to congratulate him!
Dale was VERY happy... As
you can see...
..

VICTORY LANE...
..
..
Since he won the race, Daytona USA
took that car to display for one year
in their museum, as they do with
all Daytona 500 winning cars.
...
Sweet Victory!
.....
This is the on board camera view
of all the people who came to congratulate Dale on his victory!
Virtually every member from every
crew lined pit road salute "The Intimidator."

......................Dale's "sign" car that he drove
during the end of 1999
..
Dale's 1987 car... This paint
job was used on Dale's car in 1999 for The Winston.
Dale's car from The Winston in 1999
This is the scandalous Terry Labonte
crash at the Bristol night race in 1999. DALE DID NOT CRASH TERRY
ON PURPOSE!!! Dale said that he only meant to "rattle his cage."
Labonte and his fans thought otherwise. This continued to be a hot
topic of debate for several years after!
